Annual Parish Meeting

All Parish and Town Councils throughout England are required by law to hold an Annual Parish Meeting between the dates of 1st March and 1st June (inclusive). This is not a Council meeting but a meeting of registered electors. The purpose is to enable the registered electors to discuss parish affairs alongside an opportunity for the Parish Council and community group leaders to update on their activities over the previous year.

The meeting is normally called by the Parish Council Chair, but if that is not done, it can be called by two Councillors or six registered voters.  The meeting is chaired by the Parish Council Chair or Vice Chair if the Chair is unavailable.
