Haversham-cum-Little Linford Parish

Since 2012 the Rose-Stimpson Cup has been awarded by the members of the Parish Council to the ‘Parish Resident of the Year’ – the person from Haversham-cum-Little Linford who has done the most for the community over the previous 12 months or so.  The award is presented at the annual Village Show in early September.  The Cup was donated by Gerald and Ena Stimpson (née Rose), former residents of the Parish and Gerald was also long-standing Parish Councillor.  Their daughter still lives in the Parish.

Previous recipients have been individuals who have supported various aspects of our community including social activities, clubs and services for the Parish and each and every one of them has been a deserved winner.

In 2024 the Parish Council team were not able to identify someone to receive the cup, partly because the ‘rules’ preclude awarding the cup to the same person twice, so that is why we decided to award a special award to Ian Burgess and Lesley Gilbert, both previous winners of the cup, in recognition of their long-standing service to our community over many years.

In 2025 we wanted to do something a bit different and asked all Parish residents to consider who they would like to nominate to receive the ‘Parish Resident of the Year Award’.  We did the same in 2026 and will continue to do so going forward

Whilst the final decision on the Parish Resident recipient remains with the Parish Council, we want to hear from you about people who do great things for the community who we may not hear about – our ‘unsung heroes’.

Nominations will open again around June 2027.  The selection remains a secret until the cup is awarded at the 2027 Village Show in September.

To nominate someone we will ask for the following information

• The name of your nominee (must be a Parish Resident)

• Why you are nominating them

• Your name

• You email and/or telephone number should we need to contact you for more information

We will provide a link to the nomination form once nominations re-open.
